40th Annual Sports Meet 2023 Secondary Section Event
The mark of Great Sportsmen is not how good they are at their best, but how good they are their worst. On 9 th December, 2023, Saturday, the Sarasvis commenced their 40 th Annual Sports Meet of the secondary Section, with Great Discipline, Pride and Honour. The Sports Meet was graced with the presence of International Badminton Player, Mr. Mitesh Hajirnis. The event started with the Grand Opening Ceremony which was followed by the March Past performed by all 9 troops, namely School troop consisting of council members and students from 10 th std., Yamuna, Kaveri, Ganga, Godavari, and Krishna, Scout Guide, Band group and the Prabhav Defence, consisting of 240 cadets. Followed by this was the Arrival of Torch in which the Torch was carried by our Talented Sarasvis who have made great accomplishments at the National and State level in the course of various sports. Then all the troops took a formal Oath to take part in the various sporting events under the Leadership of Senior School Games Captain Mst. Swarsingh Virendrasingh Dixit. Followed was the arrival of the cheerful and energetic Mascot of the 40 th Annual Sports Meet – The Spotted Deer, who danced across the ground and greeted the Dignitaries including the Chief Guest which created an enthusiastic Atmosphere. Followed by the return of troops was the exhilarating display of 8 th std. Further were the Inter-house athletic events of Slow Cycling, Relay, Ball Races and Obstacle Race etc which was followed by the display of yoga, Karate, Gymnastics and Mallakhamb where our young Sarasvis showcased their flexible bodies. In line was the lightening display of 6th and 7 th grade Students, by which the ground was glittered up exhibiting various formations like Bharat. Subsequently our Sarasvis of 9 th and 10 th std. flaunted with the ‘Maharashtra chi Lokdhara’, which included various Folk Dances of different communities and legacy of Lezim. After all the displays most awaited the prize distribution ceremony was held, where in the title of Best Sports Boy and Best Sports Girl were given to Mst. Mayank Dhongadi, and Ms. Yukta Rane and Ms. Nidhishree Bhoir won the title from Senior House, Mst. Smit Rane were given the Best Sports Boy Trophy from the Jr. College; the Individual championship trophies were given Mst. Shaurya Salunkhe and Ms. Kavya Patil from Jr. House; Mst. Advait Jadhav, Mst. Rudra Ghadge, Ms. Pihoo Jadhav from 8 th Std. ; Mst. Darshan Dalvi and Ms. Yashasvini Chaudhari, from Sr. House Mst. Swayam Palekar and Ms. Anaya Rao from the Jr. College. Then the winner and runner-up house of the year was announced, Yamuna House got 1 st Place followed by Runner-Ups Ganga House. At last the Sports Meet was concluded with the closing ceremony and The Meet was Declared Closed.
