Jolly Republic Day (2022-2023)

The day started with our dignitaries being escorted by our Captain and Vice- Captain while our melodious band played. The head of our Sarasvi family Madam Korde, our energetic Principal Mrs. Anita Pinto, enthusiastic coordinators, Mr Balram Das and Mrs. Meenakshi Bangera were present. 8 th and 9 th graders were present on the ground. Students of other standards were also present. Madam Korde hoisted the flag, and everyone struck salutes from the bottom of their hearts. We sang our national song, after which some of the dignitaries gave speeches. We all took a pledge, never to consume tobacco. The guests were again escorted around the school building, where people had already gathered and made a huge crowd for the morning session of the funfair. Then, finally everyone’s wait came to an end when the ribbons were cut. Then everyone entered, and thus started the ‘TEMPTATION FUNFAIR 2022-23’.

All the standards had their stalls setup on the grounds, some selling Manchurians, some hosting games, etc, etc. We saw a lot of book stalls too along with the usual in Diamond Hall, it was a total treat for the avid readers (who probably go on to become the Reader Kings and Queens of our school), right from the little ones to the experienced readers. Many parents to had setup their stalls on rent. Everyone visited these extravagant choices of stalls. Many teachers took turns selling coupons for the game stalls. Everything took place systematically.

All throughout the day, there were dances being performed for the visiting audience to simple enjoy. This booming beauty of our vibrant funfair was so loud, it resonated throughout the world, that even the people who weren’t physically present would know that Sarasvis were at it once again! Many of our ex-students too had visited, even Jay Dudhane, our celebrity ex-student had come on the occasion of promotion of his thriller Marathi film! Every year on this day, our students from all over the world take time from lives to make it to our program at school. This is the magic of 26 th January celebration in our school; it is a tradition which must be kept.
Happy Republic Day everyone!
