Celebration of Kargil Vijay Divas
The kargil Vijay Diwas was celebrated in Saraswati Vidyalaya, Thane to commemorate the victory of the Indian soldiers and to honour their sacrifices in the Kargil War in 1999. The Kargil war was also known as Operation Vijay. In the war, the Indian army successfully evicted the Pakistani troops who captured Tiger Hill and other posts on the Indian side of Line Of Control(LOC).
The Prabhav Defence Academy conducted the program of the Kargil Vijay Diwas. The stage was decorated and the ‘Amar Jawan Jyoti’ was set up to pay tribute to the immortal soldiers of our country. The program started by the arrival of dignitaries, our principal Mrs.Anita Pinto and Coordinator Mr.Balram Das. The commanders of the Prabhav Defence Academy Displayed their talents by show casing the rifle drill and by saluting the Amar Jawan Jyoti. The comperes explained the history and the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Followed by this , our Principal Mrs.Anita Pinto paid tribute to the soldiers by placing a garland on the ‘Amar Jawaan Jyoti’ . Then, our Principal spoke about how India won the kargil battle and its necessity for children to know the same. The program ended with a ‘Vote of thanks’ .
‘Kargil wasn’t just a war but a story of pain with pride; a story where one will have tears of grief with a joyful smile’. The program was overall successful and ended on a good note.
