World Ocean Day
Our Ocean Our Future
World Ocean Day takes place every 8th June, since 1992 by Canada’s International Centre for Ocean development.
It is celebrated to develop a worldwide movement of citizens for the Oceans to mobolize and unite the world’s population on a project for the sustainable management of the world’s Oceans. Oceans the sea of classical antiquity is a body of saline water that composes much of planet’s hydrosphere. Because oceans are a major source of food and medicines and a critical part of the biosphere. We need to shake hands to prevent plastic pollution and encourage solutions for a healthy ocean.

World Ocean Day
Today is the world ocean day. Nature is very beautiful. Oceans play an important role in this aspect. Oceans are truly enormous. 70% of our earth is covered with water. It is nature’s greatest gift to all living things. The essential ingredient of food – salt too is found in oceans without which we cannot imagine our food. The fishermen are able to earn their living by fishing. But we do not acknowledge it. Instead we harm it in all possible ways. The harmful effluents from industries and the sewage systems in our country too, join the oceans and pollute it. India is blessed with oceans on 3 sides. The oceans are magnanimous and give us the pleasure of witnessing spectacular coral reefs and a vibrant marine life. The oil spills from Cargo ships add up in polluting the sea and destroying the marine life. The clean beaches of India and world are being polluted with excessive use of plastic and thermocol. So let’s take a pledge today to keep our oceans clean and try to preserve the marine life as oceans are nature’s greatest wonder.
