Parents Solo Dance Competition
Date : 22nd September 2018.
A Parent’s Dance competition was held at Saraswati Vidyalaya High school and Jr. College of science, Thane as part of their celebration to commemerate our “Foundation day”(1st Oct). Aptly titled ‘Ek sham sarasvi ke naam’, this maiden competition set the tone for the coming celebrations.
The brave and sporting mommies ably supported by their family members literally put up a feast for the eyes beautiful costumes and graceful moves and grooves. The enthralled audience were treated to a grand array of different dance forms, right from the delicate and graceful moves of the robust, foot stomping of the ‘Jogwa’ – a Maharastrian folk.
The performances were ably judged by Mrs. Shikha Sengupta a Dance Teacher from Saraswati Vidyalaya she is also an exponent of Bharat Natyam and Mrs.Pradnya Koli a renowned folk artist also doubles as a makeup Artist. First prize was won by Mrs.Kamerkar for her Kathak readition. The second prize was bagged by Mrs.Majumdar for her ‘Krishna Leela’ and the Third prize was clinched by Mrs. Shinde for a kathak performance. A certificate of participation was awarded to all the dancers.
Mrs. Manju Mishra the Vice Principal in her poetic avtar recited her thought provoking poem on the complementary relation between the parents and the teachers.
Mrs. Anita Pinto the Principal in her speech appreciated the mothers for their courage as she felt it was not easy to get up on stage and perform in front of the audience. The programme inspite of being a maiden one proved to be a grand success all thanks to the foresight and perseverance of our Principal Mrs Anita Pinto and Vice Principal Mrs. Manju Mishra and co-ordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Bangera.
