Pre Primary Janmashtami Celebration

Janmashtami, the joyous celebration of Lord Krishna's birth, was a vibrant occasion in our school. Janmashtami was celebrated on Monday, 26th August 2024 by the Pre Primary section. It was a delightful and colorful event, bringing the story of Lord Krishna's birth to life. The children of Kindergarten were abuzz with excitement as they were dressed as little Krishnas and Radhas, filled with their vibrant energy and innocence. The celebration began with a warm welcome from the teachers, who explained the significance of Janmashtami in simple terms that the young minds could grasp. They narrated the story of Lord Krishna's birth, his childhood mischief, and his deep bond with Radha, sparking curiosity and wonder among the kids. The boys, with peacock feathers in their crowns, yellow dhotis, and flutes in hand, looked charming and mischievous, just like little Krishnas. The girls, adorned in colorful lehengas with delicate jewellery, perfectly embodied the grace and beauty of Radha. Their innocent smiles and playful demeanour added an authentic touch to the celebration. A small "Dahi handi" (pot breaking) event was organized, where the children tried to break a hanging pot, symbolizing Krishna's love for butter. The activity was done under careful supervision, ensuring safety while allowing the children to enjoy the thrill of the tradition. The celebration also had children swaying to the tunes of traditional Krishna songs. Their dance, though simple, was filled with enthusiasm and joy, capturing the spirit of the festival. Overall, the Janmashtami celebration at the kindergarten was a wonderful blend of fun and learning. It gave the young children an opportunity to connect with their cultural heritage while enjoying a day of dressing up and festivities.
