National Sports Day, celebrated on August 29, honours the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand. This year, the celebration extended beyond a single day, allowing students to engage in various fun and competitive activities throughout the week. The week-long celebration involved house-wise competitions for each grade, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical fitness among students. Hopping race for grade 1 helped the youngest participants showcased their agility in a hopping race encouraging laughter and excitement. It was a joyful event that promoted balance and coordination followed by grade 2 potato race. The potato race was a thrilling event where students picked up potatoes from a designated area and placed them in a basket located near the finish line. The challenge required speed, agility, and coordination.
Students of grade 3 jumped in sacks, racing against each other in a display of enthusiasm. The laughter and cheers filled the air, making it a highlight of the week followed by Langdi match. This traditional Indian game involved hopping on one leg to tag opponents. It encouraged strategic thinking and physical agility, as students enjoyed the competitive spirit of the game.
The week concluded with a thrilling dodge ball match. Teams showcased their skills in dodging and throwing, fostering teamwork and strategic planning among the older students.
